Terms of Service

What this is
The Digital Novice is a newsletter and website about digital safety and scam protection, written in plain English. By subscribing or reading, you agree to these terms.
What our content is — and isn't
We work hard to make our content accurate and useful, but it is general information, not professional advice. We are not your lawyer, financial advisor, or IT department. Scams change constantly, and no publication can cover every situation. Use your judgment, and when real money or legal trouble is involved, talk to a qualified professional.
Subscriptions and payments
The free tier is free. Paid subscriptions are billed by Stripe at the price shown when you subscribe, monthly or annually. You can cancel anytime; cancellation stops future billing and your access continues through the period you've paid for.
Your conduct
Don't misuse the site — no scraping our subscriber systems, no attempting to access accounts that aren't yours, no using our content to run scams. That last one should go without saying.
Our content
Articles published here are © The Digital Novice. Sharing a link or forwarding an issue to someone who'd benefit is encouraged — that's the point. Republishing our content wholesale without permission is not.
Liability
We provide this newsletter as-is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we're not liable for losses arising from your use of, or reliance on, our content. If you spot an error, tell us at hello@thedigitalnovice.com and we'll fix it.
Changes
We may update these terms; the date at the top reflects the latest version. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
